Who We Are

Community Frontiers is a mirror of the same life affirming purpose and passion that we help to foster in other groups. We are a knowledge and experience-rich collection of individuals who have pooled their unique talents and perspectives in the service of the larger community of our clients, society, and the earth. We apply the same principles and practices we use in our work to ourselves.

For example, as the source of our rich talent base, we maintain an extensive global network of some of the best people in their fields, industries, and geographic areas, rather than a fixed, hierarchical organization. To keep our network connected and working toward a common purpose, we use the same methods for linking people in different locations and time zones we help distributed communities to put into practice. So we are able to tap our network whenever we need more resources or capabilities to meet our clients' needs.

The values we espouse in our work with communities are the same that we practice in our work together through: trust-based, authentic relationships; ongoing, meaningful communication; deep caring for our clients, each other, and all life; unwavering commitment to our clients, our shared purpose, and a positive future for this planet; a light-hearted passion for our work, our relationships, and our lives; and a holistic approach to all we do, seamlessly weaving together mind/body/spirit, work/pleasure/spiritual practice/social action.

Community Frontiers is located in the coastal redwood mountains of Boulder Creek, California, near Silicon Valley. We have evolved through several manifestations, being known first as the Work Ecology Network and most recently as Work Frontiers International. Our work has also evolved, increasingly focusing on the life-affirming purposes of the groups we serve, as well as the forms and practices they employ to realize their purposes.

Hosting and holding the space for Community Frontiers providers and clients are Arian Ward and Beth Alexander
